About PowerMyLearning
PowerMyLearning is looking for a UX designer to work with us on a contract basis remotely between10-20 hours/week. PowerMyLearning is a national education nonprofit that offers teachers an innovative product to involve families in their students’ learning experiences. Our product is used by thousands of teachers nationally and we’re seeking a UX designer to help us improve the product and improve the users’ experiences with it. PowerMyLearning is committed to serving students from low-income communities, students with learning differences, and English Language Learners.
Responsibilities would include:
• Translate user research and needs into viable product solutions
• Lead design-thinking workshops with internal staff and end users to generate new feature enhancements
• Creating wireframes and user flows to help visualize user needs
• Developing functional prototypes in Figma to serve as visual front-end requirements for developers to build new features
• Lead user feedback sessions with internal and external stakeholders
• Collaborate with our developers to ensure that designs are feasible
Desired skills and experience:
• 3+ years of experience as a UX designer
• Experience using Figma
• Knowledge of human-centered best practices and user experience design methods
• Ability to collaborate and communicate clearly with product owners, business analysts, and other stakeholders
• Bonus points if you have experience working in education or the nonprofit sector or experience designing for users with varying degrees of accessibility to technology
Compensation And Logistics
• Compensation to be earned at a rate of $40/hour
• You are responsible for ensuring that you have the necessary tools to provide remote workshops and support, including a quality computer with Microsoft Office Suite installed, stable Internet access supporting video delivery, and an appropriate video background.
