Contract Duration: 6 Months contract (Extendable based on performance and client needs)
No. of vacancies: 2
Overview:
GGateway is seeking a Senior Network Software Engineer (WinSock / PTP) with strong expertise in low-level Windows networking, including Winsock and NDIS-level development, and Precision Time Protocol (PTP).
The role focuses on designing and building high-performance networking software using the WinSock API on the Windows platform, with strong emphasis on packet-level control, hardware interaction, and time-synchronized communication systems. The ideal candidate will work on performance-critical networking components, including low-latency UDP systems, hardware timestamping, and network timing accuracy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and optimize low-level Windows networking systems using socket programming
- Build high-performance networking software using Winsock (socket-based development on Windows)
- Develop production-grade low-level socket programming applications using the WinSock API on the Windows platform
- Develop and maintain high-throughput UDP/TCP socket-based communication systems
- Work with NDIS-level networking concepts, including packet flow behavior, offloading, and performance characteristics
- Implement and support Precision Time Protocol (PTP)-based synchronization solutions
- Handle low-level socket programming for packet transmission, reception, and control messaging
- Debug and optimize network traffic at the socket and packet level (latency, jitter, throughput, packet loss)
- Perform performance tuning for high-load, multi-threaded socket-based systems
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate socket-based networking modules into larger systems
- Write clean, efficient, production-grade C/C++ socket-based networking code with proper testing and documentation
Required Qualifications
- Strong hands-on experience in Windows low-level networking (Winsock required)
- Solid understanding of NDIS and Windows networking architecture
- Strong proficiency in C / C++ systems programming
- Experience working with Precision Time Protocol (PTP) synchronization systems and hardware timestamping
- Deep knowledge of TCP/IP and UDP networking fundamentals
- Experience building high-performance, multi-threaded networking applications
- Strong experience in packet-level debugging and network performance optimization
- Experience in Precision Time Protocol (PTP)
- Experience working in high-performance or low-latency network environments
- Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills in complex system environments
