Advantage Technical is seeking an experienced Technical Business Development Manager to lead the commercial efforts in strategic growth markets for advanced materials. The role involves developing customer relationships, identifying new applications, and driving long-term growth through market development and collaboration with engineering teams.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute strategic growth plans for assigned market segments
- Identify emerging applications, customer needs, and technology trends aligned with CPS capabilities
- Build and maintain a robust pipeline of qualified opportunities
- Develop account strategies for key customers and target markets
- Build relationships with engineering, procurement, operations, and executive-level stakeholders
- Engage customers early in product development cycles to influence specifications and material selection
- Position CPS as a trusted technical partner and problem solver
- Identify opportunities to leverage multiple CPS technologies across customer organizations
- Lead business opportunities from concept through production
- Coordinate internal resources including engineering, operations, quality, and product development teams
- Develop proposals, negotiate commercial terms, and secure design wins
- Maintain accurate pipeline management, forecasting, and opportunity tracking within CRM systems
- Develop market intelligence and competitive insights
- Support annual operating plans and long-term growth initiatives
- Represent CPS at trade shows, technical conferences, and customer events
- Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure customer success and timely execution of projects
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, Chemistry, or a related technical discipline
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in technical sales, market development, applications engineering, product management, or business development
- Demonstrated success developing new business opportunities and managing complex, multi-year sales cycles
- Experience selling engineered products, advanced materials, precision components, or complex manufacturing solutions
- Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to engage both technical and executive audiences
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 50%
