As the Staff Accountant, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the integrity of financial records and ensuring compliance with reporting requirements, while supporting the Finance team in a dynamic environment.
Responsibilities
- Analyze and reconcile general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy and promptly resolve discrepancies
- Prepare and post monthly journal entries, including adjustments to correct variances and ensure proper account classification
- Assist with month-end and year-end close processes, including generating and reviewing account schedules for balance sheet reconciliations and amortizations
- Collaborate with external auditors by providing requested documentation, explanations, and support for financial audits
- Receive and record checks and other forms of payment, ensuring accurate documentation and timely deposits in accordance with company policy
- Complete monthly reconciliations of all asset and liability accounts, maintaining proper documentation and audit trail
- Ensure compliance with all applicable gaming laws and company internal controls, policies and procedures, Title 31, and federal regulations, if they apply to the position
- Provide outstanding guest service in a timely manner to both guests and fellow team members that meets the company's guest service culture standards
- Perform other duties as assigned
Skills
- Minimum of 2 years of accounting experience
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines with accuracy and efficiency
- Excellent analytical skills with a strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications
- At least 21 years of age
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, or related field required
- Ability to effectively communicate in English, both written and verbal
- Obtain and maintain all work cards as required by the company
- Verify right to work in the United States
- Nevada Gaming Registration
- Hospitality or gaming industry experience
- Experience with Workday is strongly preferred
