They are seeking a Senior Subcontracts Administrator to lead subcontracting activities throughout the contract lifecycle, ensuring compliance with federal regulations and company policies, while supporting strategic procurement initiatives and managing subcontractor relationships. This role acts as a key business partner across multiple departments to align subcontract activities with organizational goals and maintain operational excellence.
Responsibilities
- Lead the administration and management of subcontract agreements from proposal support through contract closeout
- Draft, negotiate, review, and administer subcontract agreements, modifications, amendments, non-disclosure agreements, teaming agreements, and other contractual instruments
- Ensure subcontract activities comply with applicable Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS), customer requirements, and internal company policies
- Analyze prime contract requirements and implement appropriate flow-down clauses and contractual obligations to subcontractors
- Conduct subcontractor solicitations, evaluations, negotiations, and source selection activities in accordance with approved procurement procedures
- Review subcontractor proposals and perform cost and price analyses to support procurement decisions
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, and strategic partners
- Monitor subcontractor performance, schedules, deliverables, and compliance with contractual obligations
- Partner with Program Managers, Engineering, Contracts, Finance, and Supply Chain teams to support successful program execution
- Identify contractual and procurement-related risks and recommend mitigation strategies
- Coordinate subcontract modifications, change management activities, and issue resolution efforts
- Support proposal development activities by reviewing subcontractor inputs, pricing, and contractual requirements
- Maintain complete and accurate subcontract files and procurement documentation
- Support internal audits, customer reviews, and government audits as required
- Assist in the development and continuous improvement of subcontract administration policies, procedures, and best practices
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior procurement and subcontract administration personnel when appropriate
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Contracts Management, Finance, Law, or a related field
- Minimum of 8 years of progressively responsible experience in subcontract administration, procurement, contracts management, or government contracting
- Demonstrated experience supporting U.S. Government, Department of Defense (DoD), aerospace, or defense-related programs
- Strong working knowledge of FAR, DFARS, and government procurement regulations
- Experience negotiating complex subcontract agreements and contractual terms and conditions
- Proven ability to interpret contractual requirements and implement effective subcontract management strategies
- Experience performing cost and price analysis and evaluating subcontractor proposals
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Experience utilizing ERP, procurement, and contract management systems
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within cross-functional teams
- U.S. Citizenship
- Master's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Contracts Management, or a related discipline
- NCMA certification such as Certified Professional Contracts Manager (CPCM), Certified Federal Contracts Manager (CFCM), or equivalent
- Experience supporting Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS), aerospace, defense technology, or advanced manufacturing programs
- Knowledge of Cost Accounting Standards (CAS), Truthful Cost or Pricing Data (TINA), and Contractor Purchasing System Review (CPSR) requirements
- Active U.S. Department of Defense security clearance or the ability to obtain and maintain one
