Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Prescryptive Health, Inc. is a healthcare technology company enabling the direct access marketplace for prescription drugs. As a Senior Software Engineer, you will build, run, and evolve the systems that power the business, working across the stack from backend services to customer-facing applications.
Responsibilities
- Own features end-to-end: framing, design, construction, testing, deployment, and production operations
- Develop and enhance APIs, backend services, and internal platforms
- Build and maintain integrations with third-party systems
- Create web applications and workflow tools that hold up in production
- Troubleshoot complex issues across the full stack, especially those that span service boundaries
- Anticipate failure modes and design for clarity, testability, and reversibility
- Improve our development infrastructure, including CI/CD, environment management, and observability
- Raise the bar through code reviews, design input, and the standard your own work sets
- Translate technical reality into language product and leadership can act on
- Participate in the on-call rotation and own the production health of the systems you ship
Skills
- 5+ years of software development experience owning ambiguous problems and shipping durable solutions
- Strong experience building production APIs and integrating with external systems
- Deep expertise in at least one of C#, Go, or TypeScript
- Production experience in at least one additional programming language, ideally another language in our stack
- Working knowledge of React or a comparable modern frontend framework
- Experience with cloud services and modern cloud development practices (Azure preferred)
- Solid understanding of SQL databases and caching technologies (Redis preferred)
- Strong judgment about what not to build, with the ability to make sound tradeoffs when priorities conflict
- Comfortable taking on problems outside your area of expertise and working in unfamiliar codebases
- Ownership beyond your code, including systems, documentation, and engineering standards
- A reputation as an engineer others rely on for solving difficult technical problems
- Strong communication skills, raising risks early, keeping stakeholders informed, and acknowledging when additional information is needed
- Enthusiasm for leveraging AI-assisted development tools and emerging technologies
- Must have permanent authorization to work in the United States
- Experience working across both backend and frontend with meaningful production experience in each
- Experience in regulated industries such as healthcare or fintech
- Experience with GraphQL
- Experience with healthcare data standards, including HL7 and FHIR
- Experience with B2B SaaS platforms and customer management systems
- Experience with advanced DevOps practices, including Infrastructure as Code (IaC), containerization, and observability tooling
