ARRISE is a global leader in software development and services for the iGaming industry, and they are seeking an experienced Senior Mathematician to develop math models for new slot games. The role involves collaborating with game designers and engineers to ensure accurate implementation of game mechanics and providing feedback for improvements.
Responsibilities
- Define the mathematical profile of the game, including the game’s balance, volatility, and player experience
- Create and maintain the game’s PAR sheets and other math documentation, using both Excel and simulations
- Work closely with the Game Designer, prototyping team, and engineering team to ensure the math is implemented accurately and follows the overall game design
- Playtest and iterate on your game’s math and mechanics with an eye toward creating the best player experience possible
- Collaborate with other mathematicians to provide gameplay feedback and recommendations for improvement on each other’s games
- Regularly play competitors’ games in the iGaming and land-based spaces to stay abreast of industry trends and new mechanics
- Set and share best practices, tools, and workflows within the math team
- Mentor new junior mathematicians as our studio grows
Skills
- 5+ years of experience developing math models for real-money slot games for iGaming or land-based markets
- Degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience
- Strong expertise using Excel to model probabilities and perform data analysis
- Familiarity programming in C++, C#, or Python
- Excellent written communication skills, especially the ability to clearly communicate complex and technical concepts to stakeholders across the globe
- Up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, emerging game mechanics, and player expectations
- Be comfortable moving between multiple projects while maintaining a high attention to detail
- Bring strong organization and structure to a fast-moving environment
- Have a passion for problem solving in complex systems
- Obsess over detail and refinement
- Provide, accept, and act on feedback constructively
