[Remote] Senior Backend Engineer (Golang / Crypto Exchange / Blockchain)

Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Virtual Labs is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer with expertise in Golang and a strong understanding of cryptocurrency exchanges and trading infrastructure. The ideal candidate will design and develop scalable backend services, optimize trading system components, and integrate blockchain networks to support high-performance trading operations.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain high-performance backend services using Golang
• Build and optimize trading system components including:
• Order Management System (OMS)
• Matching Engine integrations
• Position Management
• Risk Engine
• Margin & Liquidation
• Settlement & Accounting
• Develop services supporting Spot, Margin, and Perpetual Futures trading
• Design systems capable of handling high-throughput, low-latency workloads
• Integrate blockchain networks for deposits, withdrawals, and on-chain settlement
• Build wallet services and blockchain transaction pipelines
• Develop APIs consumed by web, mobile, and institutional trading clients
• Design distributed systems with high availability and fault tolerance
• Optimize database performance and caching strategies
• Participate in architecture design, code reviews, and technical decision-making
• Troubleshoot complex production issues across distributed systems
• Work closely with DevOps teams to improve deployment reliability and operational efficiency
• Ensure system correctness, consistency, and financial accuracy across all trading flows

Skills

• 5+ years of backend software engineering experience
• Strong professional experience with Golang
• Experience building distributed backend systems
• Experience designing high-performance APIs and microservices
• Strong understanding of concurrency and asynchronous programming
• Experience working with production cloud environments
• Strong understanding of exchange architecture, including: Order Lifecycle, Order Matching, Order Book, Trade Execution, Position Management, Margin Management, Liquidation, Funding Rate, Risk Control, Settlement, Balance Management, Ledger Systems, PnL Calculation, Market Data
• Candidates should understand how a modern cryptocurrency exchange operates from order submission through settlement
