Berkley Hunt is partnering with a high-growth B2B logistics technology company building the platform that powers complex booking, pricing, and operational workflows across its industry. They are seeking a Senior AI Software Engineer to join the team and help build and scale core backend services, working across RESTful APIs, PostgreSQL, and AWS infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Design and build backend services that power the company's core operational platform
- Architect scalable RESTful APIs used across the product
- Design and maintain PostgreSQL schemas modeling complex transactional, pricing, and workflow data
- Work with AWS services and DevOps tooling to deploy, monitor, and maintain production systems
- Build server-side applications using Node.js and Express
- Optimize queries and data flows to support real-time operational decision-making across high-volume datasets
- Own and scale infrastructure within AWS
- Implement automated testing to ensure system reliability and prevent regressions
- Work closely with frontend engineers to connect user-facing workflows with backend systems
- Collaborate with product and operations teams to translate complex domain workflows into software solutions
- Provide production support during critical operational periods when needed
- Improve system observability through logging, monitoring, and performance instrumentation
- Use AI tools and frameworks such as LangGraph to build and improve real-world systems and workflows
- Experiment with new tools, frameworks, and approaches, and evaluate what is worth bringing into production
Skills
- 8+ years of backend engineering experience
- Strong experience building production-grade web applications
- Proficiency with Node.js, TypeScript and Express
- Experience designing and building RESTful APIs
- Experience working with AWS services and DevOps tooling in production environments
- Deep experience with PostgreSQL, including schema design and query optimization
- Experience building secure backend systems
- Strong debugging and performance optimization skills
- Ability to collaborate across engineering, product, and operations teams
- Familiarity with Prisma or other ORM tools
