Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Intel 471 empowers organizations to combat cybersecurity threats with real-time intelligence. They are seeking a junior Geopolitical Analyst to support the Geopolitical Analysis team by drafting intelligence reports and maintaining knowledge of global geopolitical issues and their impact on strategic operations.
Responsibilities
- Primarily support the regional desk leads within the Geopolitical Analysis team
- Triage open source reports about key geopolitical events and draft daily intelligence reports
- Contribute to maintaining catalog updates of published geopolitical reports on countries’ threat environments and state-backed cyber threat groups
- Maintain a working knowledge of global geopolitics and foreign affairs and how this impacts wider strategic goals/aims of the respective regions and elsewhere
- Seek opportunities to expand the team’s regional reporting coverage and suggest cross-regional themes for potential intelligence report curation
- Be able to form and/or contribute to predictive assessments
- Draw upon open and closed sources of intelligence to form well rounded, multi-sourced Finished Intelligence (FINTEL) reports
- Work across multi-disciplined teams to draw upon experience and expertise towards a common goal
Skills
- Strong understanding of the global geopolitical environment and how it affects strategic operations
- Experience focusing on regional geopolitics and/or foreign affairs
- Awareness of how the financially motivated cyber underground functions and how that intersects with wider geopolitics and foreign affairs
- Self-starter who is comfortable creating something independently and working with little supervision
- Experience creating analytical reports, with a keen eye for detail
- Comfortable contributing to ongoing and developing projects
- Able to work under pressure, to tight and changing deadlines
- Able to analyze large data sets and identify trends, patterns and anomalies to form unique intelligence
- Open minded, stress resistant, and hands on
- Understanding of the Intelligence Cycle and how it affects the analytical workflow
