STI is seeking an expert Epic Clinical Project Manager to manage the planning and implementation of an EHR implementation project for the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services. The role involves coordinating with various stakeholders, managing project scope and quality, and ensuring that the clinical components of the Epic EHR system meet the organization's needs.
Responsibilities
- Maintaining the scope, schedule, and quality of the project for the Clinical EHR build team. Modules in scope are:
- Setting clear expectations for team members, including defining what they should do at each phase of the project
- Working closely with the EHR Program Director and other project managers/team managers to coordinate activities
- Ensuring that the business community is engaged in the project
- Advising and coaching team members by providing guidance on project issues, key success factors of the project, and lessons learned
- Sharing with team members the positive effects of innovation and system capabilities
- Reinforcing the importance of the project together with the EHR program executives and the Program Director, and providing consistent communication to the project team
- Organizing resources within the organization
- Motivating and showing appreciation for the team
- Appropriately matching team member skills to team responsibilities
- Managing the project from an organizational perspective while attending to detailed tasks
- Assisting as a support contact for revenue cycle
- Identifying and troubleshooting issues
- Guiding workflow design, building and testing the system, and analyzing other technical issues associated with Epic software
- Serving as a liaison between organizational needs and Epic implementation staff
- Maintaining regular communication with Epic representatives, including participating in weekly project team meetings
- Working with Epic representatives, the business community, and end users to ensure the system meets the organization's business needs in regard to the project deliverables and timeline
- Developing an understanding of operational needs to set the direction for the organization's workflows
- Participating in training and working with end users
- Reporting and reviewing the status of projects and issues on an ongoing basis with leadership
- Holding weekly communications with team members to discuss the status of deliverables, shared issues, end-user concerns, budget, and upcoming milestones
- Developing and maintaining all required State CIO and DHHS PMO project documentation in coordination with other EHR PMO PM resources
Skills
- CANDIDATE MUST BE CERTIFIED IN AT LEAST ONE CLINICAL APPLICATION
- Expertise in Epic Clinical project management
- Experience managing the planning and implementation of an EHR implementation project
- Ability to work with senior-level business executives, IT management and personnel, business program resources and vendor staff
- Experience defining and executing requirements and managing stakeholder expectations
- Ability to manage day-to-day activities for the assigned portion of the project
- Experience completing input into overall EHR program reporting and the State's Project Portfolio Tool (MS Project Server)
