They are seeking a Director, Consult Partner who will lead multi-disciplinary teams through complex consulting engagements, drive profitable growth, and build strong client relationships within the public sector.
Responsibilities
- Drive significant financial outcomes through signings and revenue targets
- Ensure sustained growth and profitability, managing margin expectations and backlog growth
- Support the identification, pursuit and conversion of a pipeline of business development opportunities
- Undertake scoping and fee negotiation on engagements, while enduring profitability and understanding and containing risk
- Serve as a trusted advisor to state, local government, and K-12/higher education clients, helping them navigate complex technology and operational challenges
- Build and maintain long-term relationships with public sector decision-makers, including elected officials, department heads, and procurement officers
- Leading C-level client interactions and consulting initiatives, deliverables and outputs of a deal engagement
- Demonstrate credibility and experience to advise and deliver on complex consulting engagement
- Enhance client satisfaction, as measured by Net Promoter Score (NPS) and new relationship development; Secure client references
- Achieve individual and team utilization targets
- Lead the design of complex engagements and take responsibility for oversight of delivery, ensuring high performance and customer satisfaction

Skills
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities within existing and prospective SLED accounts, with a strong understanding of California government budget cycles and fiscal year planning
- Navigate public sector procurement processes, including RFPs, RFIs, sole-source justifications, and cooperative purchasing vehicles (e.g., NASPO, OMNIA, GSA schedules)
- Collaborate with internal teams to develop tailored proposals and presentations that align with public sector compliance, security, and accessibility requirements
- Monitor legislative, regulatory, and policy developments at the state and local level that may impact client priorities or create new opportunities
- Demonstrable ability to build and commercialize relationships with senior executives
- Proven track record of leading and executing complex projects with multi-disciplinary teams in a consulting, corporate or public sector environment
- Effective financial acumen with experience in driving revenue growth and managing margins
- Experience of managing or supporting high-value business development activities with senior stakeholders
- Deep understanding of industry trends and technology
- Sound personal brand and presence in the industry
- Demonstrated ability to innovate and drive change
- Experience working in a sales role with SLED organizations
- Experience working with IT Professional Services and Solutions, specifically within and/or migrating to the Cloud
- Deep understanding of government procurement regulations, public contracting law, and vendor compliance requirements
- Familiarity with key compliance frameworks relevant to the public sector, including CJIS, FERPA, HIPAA, FedRAMP, and StateRAMP
- Experience working across diverse stakeholder groups, including IT departments, finance offices, legal counsel, and elected or appointed leadership
- Ability to manage long sales or project cycles inherent to public sector engagements
- Strong written communication skills with experience responding to formal government solicitations
- Prior experience in a government agency, public school district, or university system
- Knowledge of digital equity initiatives, smart city programs, or government modernization efforts
- Existing relationships within state agencies, municipalities, or educational institutions in the State of California
