Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. ANSER enhances national and homeland security by strengthening public institutions. They are seeking Cybersecurity Analysts and Specialists to help secure mission-critical systems that support U.S. national security and defense operations.
Responsibilities
- Provide guidance related to cybersecurity capabilities, requirements, processes and policies
- Provide guidance for and/or conduct cybersecurity assessments and support implementation of cybersecurity controls across classified and sensitive systems
- Support system authorization efforts under frameworks such as the Risk Management Framework (RMF)
- Perform vulnerability scans, analyze results, and assist with mitigation planning
- Monitor security tools and logs to identify potential threats or anomalous activity
- Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to ensure cybersecurity is embedded throughout the system lifecycle
- Develop and maintain documentation such as System Security Plans (SSPs), POA&Ms, and security assessment reports
- Assist with audits, inspections, and readiness reviews to ensure ongoing compliance with federal cybersecurity standards
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline
- 3+ years of experience in a cybersecurity role, ideally supporting DoD or federal government programs
- Working knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks such as NIST 800-53, RMF, FISMA, or DoD cybersecurity policy
- Experience with or understanding of cybersecurity tools such as ACAS, Nessus, Splunk, or endpoint protection platforms
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain technical concepts
- Active TS/SCI clearance or higher is required for most positions with some positions requiring Secret or Top Secret clearances
- Relevant certifications such as Security+, CEH, CISSP, or CAP are a strong plus
