Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Lumicell is a mission-driven start-up focused on revolutionizing cancer surgery, particularly for breast cancer. The Clinical Applications Specialist plays a critical role in the commercialization phase, ensuring successful implementation and training of the LumiSystem while providing ongoing support to healthcare customers.
Responsibilities
- Lead system installation, including hardware setup and cross-department coordination
- Deliver clinical training to surgeons and hospital staff on system use and workflows
- Provide first case and early case on-site support to ensure successful adoption
- Support ongoing cases until site achieves self-sufficiency
- Conduct in-services and refresher trainings as needed
- Provide technical troubleshooting and coordinate maintenance/field service activities
- Document case notes, training records, and field service reports
- Partner with Medical Affairs to track and assess clinical benefit
- Monitor inventory and support reordering processes at customer sites
- Serve as primary point of contact for clinical and technical support at assigned sites
- Escalate risks and site issues to leadership as needed
- Support onboarding of new surgeons and staff post-implementation
- Account maintenance, including the conduct of ongoing site check-ins to support long-term site success and growth
- Expand the technology to new users at existing accounts and support case growth
- Support collection of clinical data
- Support Sales in territory development activities during periods of reduced clinical demand
- Partner with Sales to transition accounts post-purchase
- Coordinate with Engineering, Medical Affairs, and hospital stakeholders
- Support documentation and reduce administrative burden for Sales
Skills
- Bachelor's Degree
- A minimum of 2 years of experience as a clinical specialist in the medical device field or as an operating room nurse (ideally with a prior focus on breast cancer)
- Ability to build strong relationships and interact effectively with both internal and external customers and stakeholders
- Clinical (operating room) experience
- Track record of success
- Must have ability to travel up to 75%, or as needed. This may include regional client visits, corporate visits to Waltham MA (headquarters), trade shows/conferences, etc.)
- Experience with modern sales tooling/software
- Proven goal oriented, self-starter with a strong entrepreneurial drive
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- Demonstrated performance record with clear documentation of success
- Must live in the geographical location of the position or be willing to relocate
- Ideally prior experience in either a startup or a medical device company going through a 0-1 growth/go-to-market phase
