They are seeking a hybrid technical and commercial professional to balance hands-on laboratory application development with commercial distribution management, driving market share expansion and unlocking new business opportunities.
Responsibilities
- Lead commercial growth initiatives through distribution partners, providing them with technical training, market strategy, and joint customer visits to win new business
- Conduct hands-on laboratory evaluations, performance benchmarking, and product testing to support distributor inquiries and customer trials
- Provide technical guidance on the behavior, cross-linking, and curing of unsaturated polyester, vinyl ester, and (meth)acrylate resins
- Educate the market and guide formulations on the selection of high-value wetting and dispersing agents, fiber wetting tools, air release chemistry, and rheology modifiers
- Assist manufacturers in optimizing ambient temperature cure profiles using specialized metal carboxylate accelerators, including cobalt, potassium, copper, zinc, sodium, and calcium systems
- Resolve critical customer challenges, such as mitigating gel-time drift in pre-accelerated resins, improving anti-settling properties, and preventing floatation or flooding
- Deliver technical service tailored across a broad range of composite applications, including pultrusion, casting, laminating, SMC/BMC, putties, gel coats, and filament winding
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related polymer discipline
- 8+ years of experience within the composites or thermoset resin industry, with a deep understanding of unsaturated polyester resins (UPRs) or vinyl esters
- Proven track record in a customer-facing or market development role (Technical Sales, Account Management, or Tech Service) with a preference for candidates who have successfully managed chemical distribution channels
- Comfortable working in a lab environment to prepare formulations, run gel-time tests, and generate performance data
- Willingness to travel up to 50% to support distributor networks and engage in field trials at customer plants
