Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. DEWESoft USA is seeking a motivated Application Engineer with a strong background in electrical power systems. The role focuses on supporting the sales process and ensuring customer success in power analysis, power quality, and electrical grid applications.
Responsibilities
- Build strong relationships with top customers (utilities, EV manufacturers, renewable energy developers) and act as their go-to expert on DEWESoft hardware and software solutions for power analysis
- Understand customer needs in electrical testing and grid monitoring. Recommend and configure solutions for complex challenges like harmonics analysis, transient recording, and efficiency measurements
- Work closely with the Sales team to conduct technical demos, proof-of-concepts, and on-site field testing
- Create specialized technical documentation (power-focused case studies, setup files, training materials) to drive success
- Be the 'voice of the customer' by collecting valuable feedback on power-specific software modules and hardware features to help guide DEWESoft's future product development
Skills
- 5–7 years of field experience, with a 2–4 year degree in Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Automation/Controls Engineering, or a closely related technical field
- Strong understanding of power systems, three-phase electrical circuits, power quality parameters, and sensor technology (such as current clamps, Rogowski coils, and high-voltage transducers)
- Deep familiarity with Power Analyzers, Data Acquisition Systems, and specialized electrical testing software
- Ability to travel significantly (50%–75%) within the U.S. and Canada to visit customer sites, substations, and industrial facilities
- Excellent written/verbal communication, self-motivated, and comfortable working both independently and as part of a remote team
- The ability to safely navigate and troubleshoot complex electrical, power, industrial, and communication applications and data acquisition setups in the field
- Knowledge of industrial controllers, variable frequency drives (VFDs), and PLC equipment (e.g., AB, Siemens)
- Familiarity with industrial and utility communication protocols (e.g., Modbus, OPC UA, CAN bus, or IEC 61850)
