Publicity Assistant

Scholastic is a leading publisher of children's content with over 100 years of experience. The Publicity Assistant role offers an exciting opportunity to support the Publicity Department by managing media mailings, booking author events, and securing media coverage for authors.

Responsibilities

• Assist Vice President and the Publicity department with administrative duties including mailings, routing projects, tracking reviews, galley orders, etc
• Manage monthly galley mailing process
• Pitch media for reviews, author interviews, seasonal roundups, and other coverage
• Plan and execute author events, including travel booking
• Track media coverage and maintain correspondence with trade journals
• Create and format pitch documents and PowerPoint decks
• Manage and process invoices on behalf of the department

Skills

• Must be highly organized with meticulous attention to detail
• A self-starter who is resourceful and can work independently, as well as part of a team
• Ability to juggle multiple projects at once
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Passion for children's books a plus
• Publicity internship experience a plus but not required
