About the Role Our client, a leading manufacturer of specialized industrial components, is seeking a meticulous and experienced Production Planner & Scheduler to join their team. This role is instrumental in ensuring efficient and timely production runs by accurately planning and scheduling manufacturing operations at their facility in Cincinnati, Ohio . The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of production processes, inventory management, and master scheduling principles. You will work closely with production, procurement, and sales teams to optimize resource allocation, manage lead times, and meet customer demand. This hybrid position offers a blend of on-site collaboration and remote work flexibility, supporting our strategic planning efforts. We are looking for a proactive individual who can contribute to our client's operational excellence in Cincinnati, Ohio . Key Responsibilities Develop, maintain, and optimize detailed production schedules to meet demand forecasts and customer orders. Collaborate with sales, operations, and supply chain teams to ensure alignment on production priorities and timelines. Monitor production progress and make necessary adjustments to schedules in response to changes in demand, material availability, or operational issues. Manage inventory levels of raw materials, work-in-progress (WIP), and finished goods to support production schedules and minimize costs. Analyze production data, capacity constraints, and lead times to create realistic and achievable production plans. Identify and report on potential scheduling conflicts or material shortages, proposing proactive solutions. Work with the procurement team to ensure timely availability of raw materials and components. Assist in the implementation and utilization of production planning and ERP software. Generate reports on production performance, schedule adherence, and inventory status. Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives related to planning, scheduling, and inventory management processes in our Cincinnati, Ohio operations. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field. 3-5 years of experience in production planning, scheduling, or a related role within a manufacturing environment. Proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) and production planning software. Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, inventory management, and capacity planning. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail. Effective communication and interpersonal skills, crucial for coordinating with multiple departments. Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a hybrid work setting. Experience with lean manufacturing principles and their application in planning is a plus.
