Title: Junior Human Resources Specialist Location: USA Remote Job Type: Full-time, Contract Summary C² Technologies seeks a Junior Human Resources Specialist to support federal retirement and benefits services for a government client. Working closely with senior HR specialists, this role assists with the review and processing of benefits and retirement documents, supports employee counseling on federal benefits programs, tracks workload through HR systems, and contributes to training, briefings, and process documentation. This position is ideal for an early-career HR professional who is eager to build expertise in federal benefits and retirement operations while supporting mission-critical HR services. Responsibilities • Assist in reviewing benefits and retirement documents, including beneficiary forms and FEHB and FEGLI enrollment forms • Support the review and certification of benefits-related documentation for accuracy, completeness, and compliance • Assist senior specialists in developing responses to employee questions related to federal benefits and retirement programs • Assist in counseling employees on federal benefits using HR rules, regulations, and OPM policies, and help provide coverage when a higher-graded specialist is unavailable • Utilize HR systems and tools to complete, track, and manage workload, including Salesforce, HRBE, and SharePoint • Assist with the development and delivery of training and briefings for management and employees in individual, group, in-person, and virtual settings • Support updates to Standard Operating Procedures to help guide HR staff on retirement and benefits processing and procedures • Under quality review by senior specialists, team leads, or supervisors, assist in providing advisory and counseling support related to voluntary, disability, deferred, and postponed retirement matters • Support benefits and retirement services for employees under general federal retirement provisions as well as special retirement coverage for Law Enforcement Officers and Customs and Border Protection Officers • Maintain accurate HR records, case files, and tracking systems to support timely and effective service delivery • Respond to employee inquiries by providing clear, accurate information or routing issues to senior staff, as appropriate • Contribute to HR projects and perform other duties as assigned Requirements Education Requirement •Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field, or equivalent experience Experience Requirement • Up to 3 years of HR, benefits, retirement, or administrative experience, preferably supporting federal employee benefits or retirement programs • Familiarity with federal retirement, health benefits, life insurance, and Thrift Savings Plan programs preferred • Experience interpreting policies, procedures, and guidance related to employee benefits is preferred • Familiarity with OPM policies and federal HR regulations is a plus Experience Requirement – Tools and Software • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and HR information systems or similar case management tools • Experience using Salesforce, HRBE, SharePoint, or related systems is preferred • Familiarity with federal benefits systems and retirement processing tools is a plus Experience Requirement – Soft Skills • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills • Excellent oral and written communication abilities with a customer-service mindset • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and learn complex HR policies quickly • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion • Ability to explain benefits and retirement information clearly to employees and management • Ability to research, interpret, and apply HR guidance to routine and moderately complex situations Additional Requirement Due to contractual requirements, only U.S. citizens are eligible for consideration • Employment is contingent upon the ability to obtain and maintain a DHS background investigation/security clearance. Base Salary Range: $55,000 – $65,000 / year. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and structural alignment. Individual pay is influenced by several factors, including the candidate's work location, relevant experience, skillset, and contract constraints.
