About SCUBE SCUBE is a specialized performance agency for large-catalog ecommerce brands and technical manufacturers. Our core is paid ads, product feeds, and analytics, and we are growing our SEO department to give clients deeper organic coverage across their catalogs. We work with spec-driven businesses where fitment, specifications, and use cases matter a lot: auto and marine parts, construction and industrial supplies, material handling companies, and signage manufacturers. Our clients run on Shopify, BigCommerce, Magento, and WooCommerce. This is not high-volume blog SEO. The work is catalog-focused: product detail pages, category pages, and technical SEO, plus a smaller set of buyer's guides that set our clients' products apart. We keep a low client load and do real, senior-level work, and our clients stay with us for years. The role You will own SEO clients from start to finish: building the 90-day roadmap, running the weekly work, coordinating with clients and their developers, tracking performance against real revenue, and deciding what comes next. You make sure the right things get done, get done well, and move the numbers. This is an ownership role, not a task role. We will not hand you a checklist and chase you on it. We want someone who takes a client, learns the goals, and drives the outcome, flagging problems early and following through without being reminded. It is a dedicated engagement with set hours, not one of ten accounts you sprint through between other work. What you will own • Quarterly roadmaps. Build a 90-day strategy per client. At quarter's end, verify what was actually implemented, measure impact, and plan the next quarter from real account analysis. • Weekly execution. Ship deliverables every week: content produced and published, client feedback gathered, technical fixes pushed forward. • Performance monitoring. Review Google Search Console weekly, tie movement back to revenue, and find where wins and problems come from by product, category, and page type. • Content quality. Produce catalog content (product descriptions, category copy, FAQs) using AI tools to draft, then edit every word and check it against the client's actual catalog before it ships. • Client and developer coordination. Be the point of contact, follow up, and confirm the client's dev team actually implemented what we recommend. • Technical problem-solving. When something breaks, research how the platform handles it, use AI tools to troubleshoot or generate code, and fix it. For deep questions like crawl budget or log analysis, you will have an expert on call, but you own getting to the answer. What we are looking for • Conscientiousness. You check your own work and verify rather than assume. • Ownership. You close loops. If something is assigned, it gets done, or you flag the blocker early. • Critical thinking. With an unfamiliar setup or a new problem, you research and find the path forward instead of waiting to be told. • Solid ecommerce SEO fundamentals. Indexation, canonicalization, schema, site architecture, crawl efficiency, sitemaps, and on-page work for product and category pages. • AI fluency. Comfortable using AI tools (we use Claude) to draft, troubleshoot, and generate code, and disciplined enough to verify what it produces. Requirements • US-based, available during US business hours and comfortable on client calls • 3+ years of hands-on ecommerce or catalog SEO experience • Experience with Shopify, BigCommerce, Magento, or WooCommerce • Available 20 to 25 hours per week on a 1099 contract Hiring process Shortlisted candidates complete a short paid trial task before we make an offer. Compensation and growth $35 to $45 per hour depending on experience, 20 to 25 dedicated hours per week (1099 contract). Strong performers have a clear path to full-time and to broader account leadership as the department grows. Apply now to grow with us If you're ready to contribute to a fast-paced agency and work with exciting clients, your next career step is with us. Pay: $35.00 - $45.00 per hour Application Question(s): • This role is a dedicated 20-25 hours a week, with a path to full-time as we grow. What are you doing for work now, and how would this fit alongside it? • Which ecommerce platforms have you personally worked in? (Shopify, BigCommerce, Magento, WooCommerce, other) • Describe one large-catalog store you personally worked on: the platform, roughly how many SKUs, and what you were responsible for.
