Position Overview
We are seeking a meticulous, detail‑oriented Data Entry Clerk – Legal Document Management Specialist to join our Case Management group within the Legal and Emergency Response team. This contract role (5‑month duration) is based in Overland Park, KS 66251, with a hybrid work model: in‑office training followed by up to two days per week of remote work after performance criteria are met.
The primary responsibility is to review, code, and route legal demands—including court orders, subpoenas, search warrants, and preservation letters—ensuring they are processed accurately and securely. The role demands high typing speed, 10‑key proficiency, and the ability to handle sensitive information with the utmost professionalism.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze incoming legal documents from law enforcement agencies, private attorneys, and pro se litigants.
- Apply standardized naming conventions and coding protocols to each document for proper routing.
- Route documents to the appropriate internal teams: Case Management, Real‑Time Operations (RTO), or Emergency Response Center (ERC).
- Maintain strict confidentiality in accordance with the National Security Agreement (NSA) and internal data‑security policies.
- Perform quality‑control checks to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with legal standards.
- Collaborate with supervisors and cross‑functional teams to resolve any ambiguities or discrepancies in document handling.
- Document and report any graphic or sensitive content in a professional, unbiased manner.
- Assist with additional projects and ad‑hoc duties as assigned by management, contributing to continuous process improvement.
Essential Qualifications
- Minimum of 7 years of relevant data‑entry or document‑management experience.
- Demonstrated typing speed of at least 45 words per minute and a 10‑key input rate of 5,000 keystrokes per hour.
- Proof of typing and 10‑key proficiency must be submitted as screenshots with the application (see “Application Requirements” below).
- U.S. citizenship verification required (U.S. birth certificate or passport) on the first day of employment.
- High level of computer literacy, including proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and document‑management systems.
- Ability to quickly learn and apply legal terminology and document‑handling procedures with minimal supervision.
- Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and a goal‑driven mindset.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; professional demeanor at all times.
