YOUR POSITION WITH TNC

The Conservation & Fire Coordinator works in support of the Climate Program’s Forest Strategy and the Land Program’s Stewardship Strategy

across the state of California. They provide administrative, research, project management and other general assistance to staff working toward increasing beneficial fire and reducing wildfire risk and impacts to conserved lands in California.

This is a two-year termed position with the possibility of extension pending funding.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

The Conservation & Fire Coordinator provides support in areas of team functions, meetings, data management, equipment management,

internal/external communication, logistics and general administrative support in such areas of expense reporting, travel logistics, scheduling,

and grant and contract support and management. They work closely with the Forest Strategy and the Stewardship Team to advance the

California Chapter’s prescribed fire portfolio and wildfire preparedness.

RESPONSIBILITIES & SCOPE

The Conservation & Fire Coordinator:

partner burns conducted on non-TNC land (50% of the role).

This position requires a valid driver's license and compliance with TNC’s Auto Safety Program. Employees may not drive Conservancy-owned/leased vehicles, rental cars, or personal vehicles on behalf of the Conservancy if considered "high risk drivers." Employment in this position will be contingent upon completion of a Vehicle Use Agreement, which may include a review of the prospective employee's motor vehicle record.

Salary Information:

The starting pay range for a candidate selected for this position is generally within the range of $28.26 - $33.85 hourly rate (full-time, 35 hour work week). Where a successful candidate’s actual pay will fall within this range will be based on a variety of factors, including, for example, the candidate's location within California, qualifications, specific skills, and experience. Your geographic location will be confirmed during the recruitment.
