Civil/Structural Engineering Manager – Electrical Substations

Job Description: • Lead direct reports, sub-disciplines, and contractors in Civil Engineering • Guide and direct lead civil engineers at project launching phase & during project execution • Accountable for the proper allocation of civil engineering resources required to execute the projects • Identify and review/approve design subcontractors to align resources with workload plans and optimize design budget • Develop quality procedures and processes to improve engineering efficiency • Support proposal team with resources, technical validation, engineering work scope & labor hours review • Prepare subcontracting bid packages and check design subcontractor deliverables and performance • Ensure compliance with quality procedures defined at the project and region level and support internal and external audits Requirements: • Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an accredited university • 15+ years of experience with high voltage substation civil/structural design including EPC projects • 5+ years of experience leading a substation civil engineering team • Professional Engineering License in the United States and willingness to review & seal drawings • Ability and willingness to travel 20% of the time, including international, and must comply with all relevant company travel and tax policies • Master’s degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university (desired) • 5+ years of experience managing civil engineers, including resource loading, performance reviews, recruiting/hiring, training/development plans, and salary planning (desired) • 15+ years of experience in civil structural design and execution of high-voltage substation EPC projects, including the design of equipment foundations and other associated structures (desired) • Project Management experience on power systems EPC projects (desired) • Background in Substation 3D design including BIM (Revit) models (desired) • Experience in technical problem solving (desired) Benefits: • medical, dental, vision, and prescription drug coverage • access to Health Coach from GE Vernova, a 24/7 nurse-based resource • access to the Employee Assistance Program, providing 24/7 confidential assessment, counseling and referral services • GE Vernova Retirement Savings Plan, a tax-advantaged 401(k) savings opportunity with matching contributions and company retirement contributions • access to Fidelity resources and financial planning consultants • tuition assistance • adoption assistance • paid parental leave • disability benefits • life insurance • 12 paid holidays • permissive time off
