About the Role Our client, a prominent agribusiness corporation in **Des Moines, Iowa**, is seeking a dedicated Buyer II to manage the procurement of indirect goods and services. Key Responsibilities Manage the procurement process for assigned indirect spend categories, including MRO, facility supplies, professional services, and IT equipment. Identify potential suppliers, evaluate their capabilities, and conduct competitive bidding processes (RFQs/RFPs). Negotiate favorable pricing, terms, and conditions with suppliers to achieve cost savings and ensure value. Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders to understand their needs and ensure satisfaction. Administer supplier contracts, monitor performance, and ensure compliance with agreements. Assist in the development of sourcing strategies for indirect categories. Process purchase requisitions and generate purchase orders accurately and efficiently. Resolve supplier-related issues, discrepancies, and delivery challenges. Track spending against budgets and provide reports on procurement activities and savings. Stay informed about market trends and best practices in indirect procurement. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field. Minimum of 3 years of experience in purchasing or procurement, with a focus on indirect categories. Demonstrated experience in negotiating with suppliers for goods and services. Solid understanding of procurement processes, contract management, and vendor relations. Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Effective communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively. Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy. Experience in the agribusiness sector is a plus.
